LEGAL SERVICES
The legal section is responsible for all the legal matters and performs the core function of the Office.
- It deals with all Wills, Probate & Administration (WPA) applications for seeking grant of Letters of Administration or for grant of Probate.
- It is responsible in filing lawsuits against individuals and entities defrauding deceased estates
- It defends civil lawsuits against the Office in litigation matters
- It helps provide legal support to estate and property sections in terms of advise and Conveyancing
- It helps estate planning and Will awareness
- It is responsible in assisting clients drafting ‘Legal Wills’
- It is responsible in providing reliable and sound legal advise to the Public Trustee and the Office of Public Trustee

The purpose of the Acts is to provide a clear legal framework for the management, protection, and distribution of estates and assets. They safeguard the rights and welfare of beneficiaries, ensure transparency and accountability, prevent exploitation, and promote fairness, justice, and security in handling property, trusts, and estates.
